Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLINDA G. MILLER (nee HANNA) December 27, 1949 - March 9, 2005 On March 9, 2005, our beloved Linda passed away peacefully with loving family and friends at her side. Mom grew up in Gladstone, Manitoba, later moved to Winnipeg where she made her home with husband Douglas Miller and raised their son Ashley and daughter Miranda. Mom's passion for living was seeing her children grow and fly on their own. Ashley followed in his fathers footsteps and became a Firefighter with the City of Winnipeg, and Miranda a Police officer with Treaty Three Police Service in Kenora Ontario. Throughout her illness mom worked for the Winnipeg School Division No. 1 first at the Child Guidance Clinic then later as a head secretary at Rockwood School. The kids at the school will remember that their visits to the office would be greeted with warm smile, funny joke, a candy, or a hug. Mom had fond memories of spending her summers at Sherwood Lake Ontario, where she enjoyed the company of family and friends, blue berry picking at her favourite spots, thunder storms, atv rides, canoe trips, and the wild animals. One of mom's proudest moments of her life was belonging to the first breast cancer survivor dragon boat team in Manitoba called Cemosavy . On January 11, 1985 mom began her journey of living with cancer. Mom was an inspiration and touched the lives of many with her courage and passion for life. She taught us to live strong through adversity, proving to many people that living with cancer can enrich ones life. Mom is survived by her immediate family, brother Jerry Hanna, many brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by mother Bernice Hanna, father Tophy Hanna, Brother Melvin Hanna, and father-in-law William Miller. Our family would like to thank our devoted family and friends, the doctors and nurses involved in her treatment and care at the Victoria Hospital Oncology Department, and St. Boniface Palliative care ward. The Celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 14 at Epiphany Lutheran Church 200 Dalhousie drive.

I knew Linda when we were all growing up in Gladstone. I was Melvin's age; worked with Thophy at the 'Audio' theatre. Knew the family well. The Hannas were a great family. We now live at Kenora, On - on Storm Bay Road. Will try to contact Miranda when we go back there in April. You have lost a wonderful person. Our sympathy to and Jerry. - Posted by: Lois & Norm Mayor (Acquaintance) on: Mar 16, 2005
